Hello,
Are you asking for gross or net figures for the salary poll? Also, I think you should distinguish between full and part-time positions.
Thanks,
Deborah Watson
Good question, Deborah. We're asking for gross salary. And, yes, it would be great to distinguish between full- and part-time; we're planning to do a more comprehensive survey in the future. This one is more just for fun.
Thank you.
Deborah
Glad you're doing this. Does this income include earnings sourced from occupations related to Pilates expertise and teaching? Such a writing about Pilates, organizing events and travel around Pilates? These are ways I add to my teaching income. Another good question, what are regional differences salary wise. West coast compared to east. Big city compared to small town. But you'll probably address these in your more comprehensive poll. Thanks for doing this.
Tannis
Hi Tannis
Yes, it's fine to include other Pilates-related income. And, yes, we would need to address regional differences in a more comprehensive survey.
Thanks,
Amy
Can you also do a poll regarding hourly rates mat vs. Reformer?(as well as other equipment)
Thanks!
Your survey is in dollars, but I'm an American living in London and I'd like to see data about rates in foreign countries as well.
Are most instructors paid as independent contractors and 1099ed at the end of the year, or are they employees? If contractors are they paid a percentage of what they bring in, or are they paid hourly, or do they pay rent?
Thanks!
Tina
